Update Arkansas

Don’t risk losing your Medicaid coverage – Update your contact information and get ready to renew now!

What To Know

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government temporarily stopped some Medicaid requirements and conditions. This was done to help keep people with Medicaid from losing their health coverage during the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Arkansas will soon be required to review Medicaid eligibility for people whose coverage was extended due to the COVID-19 public health emergency. This means that many Medicaid clients may lose their coverage if they don’t take simple steps now.

We’re working with community partners, advocates, and clients to make sure eligible Arkansans keep getting high quality health care coverage.

We need your help to meet this goal.

The first step in the process is making sure Arkansas Medicaid has up-to-date contact information for clients.

You can help our clients take steps to get ready now. To make sure our clients receive important paperwork, we need their up-to-date mailing addresses and phone numbers.

How You Can Help

You may know Medicaid clients in your family or in your circle of friends. Your social media circle may include people who are Medicaid or ARHOME clients or who have kids or grandkids with ARKids coverage. We want all eligible Arkansans keep getting high quality health care coverage. This mission is too important to do alone. We need your help sharing the message.

We need your help making sure that Medicaid clients update their contact information, like current mailing address, phone number, and email. This way, we can contact clients about their Medicaid coverage, if we need to. Clients can update their information on the phone, online, or in-person.

Here’s how clients can update their contact information:

  1. Call the Update Arkansas hotline at 1-844-872-2660
  2. Go online at access.arkansas.gov
  3. Visit their local DHS county office to update their information (find local offices here)

No matter how clients like to communicate with us, we have them covered!

What happens next for clients

Check the mail! Arkansas Medicaid may mail clients a renewal letter asking them to complete paperwork to make sure they still qualify for Medicaid.

Complete the renewal. If clients get renewal forms, they should fill them out and send them to Arkansas Medicaid right away to keep their coverage. They can renew quickly online at access.arkansas.gov (currently not available for TEFRA clients). They can also fill out the renewal forms and mail them back to DHS or drop them off at their local DHS county office.

If clients have any questions, they can call 1-855-372-1084 or visit access.arkansas.gov.

Toolkits & Materials

We have created a toolkit and other materials that talk about how important it is for Medicaid clients to update their contact information.

We want to make sure that all eligible Arkansans keep getting high quality health care coverage, and we need your help. Share these materials in as many ways as possible. Help others get ready to renew!
