Damian Hicks is the Chief of Human Resources. In this role, Damian is responsible for overseeing all recruitment, personnel actions (terminations, promotions, demotions), position management, personnel requests, and Department new-hire packet processing. His office also provides skills training for employees. Damian has worked at DHS for more than 15 years, most in the Office of Procurement where he managed professional and consultant services and sub-grant teams as well as administrative units including construction, mail services, printing, records storage, and warehouse distribution. Prior to working at DHS, Damian was a grants manager for over three years at a private, non-profit organization that provided behavioral health services to adults in the Little Rock area. In his role there, Damian managed grants that provided housing for those who were homeless and experiencing mental illness. Born and raised in Arkansas, Damian received an undergraduate degree in Health Services Administration and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Arkansas.
