What is SNAP Outreach?

SNAP Outreach is a program that connects and educates older Arkansans residing in High Eligibility Low Participating (HELP) counties, veterans, students, and other underserved individuals in rural areas.

SNAP Outreach Efforts

  • Share information regarding SNAP benefits
  • Correct myths and misconceptions about SNAP
  • Foster understanding of eligibility requirements and application processes

Provider and Programs

Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance

  • Covers all 75 counties in Arkansas
  • Works as a liaison with DHS on behalf of applicants
    • Created the SNAP-ARK Call Center: 833-762-7275
    • Helps Arkansans apply for SNAP
    • Checks the status of benefits
    • Follows up with application questions
  • Hosts workshops explaining the basics of SNAP (SNAP Matters)
  • Offers SNAP Outreach Training Classes
  • Manages a Food Purchasing Program
