LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) will hold a special Career Expo this month in North Little Rock to showcase an array of open positions that offer competitive pay, great benefits, and rewarding career paths. DHS is also launching a new career-focused website and premiering a short film about finding meaningful work through opportunities throughout the department and state.

The DHS Career Expo is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 16 at the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, 100 N. Main Street. The new website officially launched today at ar.gov/DHSjobs, and the short film is posted here and across all DHS social media channels.

DHS Secretary Kristi Putnam noted that the agency supports an array of critical services in every county in the state, and is working to attract applicants eager to make a difference in their communities.

“We work to strengthen families and find homes for children who need them,” Putnam said. “We connect vulnerable Arkansans with health care and food assistance while they work to improve their lives. We make sure nursing homes are safe, we investigate reports of abuse and neglect, and we ensure those with developmental disabilities or facing mental health challenges find the care they need. We rely on dedicated and caring staff members to fulfill our mission in these areas and so many more. If you’re looking for a meaningful and rewarding career, please consider DHS.”

Staff members representing every DHS Division and office will be on hand at the Expo to provide information about current openings and answer questions. Prospective applicants will be able to learn about a variety of DHS career paths, and leave with specific instructions on how to apply.

DHS has openings in a wide range of fields, including eligibility specialists, public safety officers, behavioral health aides, family service workers, youth program specialists, certified nursing assistants, local office administrative assistant, and many more. DHS is also hiring Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Nurses, and these positions may be eligible for a $5,000 recruiting bonus.

More information on open positions is available by visiting the new website at ar.gov/DHSjobs, or by contacting a recruiter by email at [email protected] or calling (501) 682-6455.
