What: The Blue Umbrella Farmers Market
When: Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 pm
Where: Corner of 7th and Main St. in downtown Little Rock
More Details: Residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live at the Arkansas Department of Human Services’ five Human Development Centers (HDCs) will sell produce, plants, handmade crafts, and more at the annual Blue Umbrella Farmers Market.
Some residents grow and harvest produce from on-site gardens, while others create crafts that make thoughtful gifts. The event is open to the public and showcases the talents of individuals supported by the HDCs.
“The Blue Umbrella Farmers Market celebrates the creativity, hard work, and entrepreneurial spirit of the residents at our Human Development Centers,” said Jennifer Brezée, Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services. “It’s a powerful example of what support and opportunity can look like in action.”
The market is an extension of The Blue Umbrella, a gift shop located inside the DHS Central Office building that sells items handmade by Arkansans with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Food trucks will be on-site, and proceeds from food sales will benefit the HDCs’ Special Olympics teams.
