Meet the Chief Information Officer
Jeff Dean serves as the Chief Information Officer. Jeff has over 25 years of experience in the information technology industry and 17 years of experience within the State of Arkansas. Jeff began his IT career at IBM, assisting in the startup of a national support center for the organization. Upon his departure from IBM, he began an IT consulting business with two partners, specializing in enterprise solutions including backup/recovery and high availability. Jeff joined the Arkansas Department of Information Systems in 2003. In January 2016, Jeff accepted the DHS CIO position, where he is in the process of modernizing the Department’s legacy solutions, eliminating manual processes, and reducing duplicate solutions within DHS. He strives to lead by example and be the kind of leader for whom he would like to work.
Technology is involved in every aspect of our lives today. Whether it is improved communications, better information access, or improved access to services, it is the DHS Office of Information Technology’s goal to leverage technology to assist DHS divisions in achieving their goals more efficiently and effectively.
The Office of Information Technology is responsible for management, coordination, oversight, and architecting information technology solutions to support DHS strategic objectives, and to embrace a technological vision that makes us integral partners in the delivery of human services to Arkansas citizens. OIT is responsible for all technology at DHS, from the desktop to enterprise wide solutions supporting millions of Arkansans.
