The center opened in 1994 and is located on Lafayette 16 between Lewisville and Canfield. According to DYS, the center is among seven in Arkansas for juveniles who commit more serious offenses.

The minimum residential length-of-stay in each program is six months, followed by an aftercare phase of at least six months. The Lewisville center accepts juveniles who are commonly disruptive in milder settings.
