TwoTeens Run from Harrisburg DYS Facility
Angel Torres
Law enforcement are searching for two youths committed to the Harrisburg Juvenile Treatment Center who ran from the facility Monday mid-afternoon, according to officials with the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS). Nearby residents and families of the youths have been notified.
Angel Torres, 17, had been placed in custody of the Department of Human Services Division of Youth Services (DYS) for a felony offense. Torres is a Hispanic male, 5'6", 120 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair from Springdale. The identify of the second youth cannot be released. Arkansas Code Annotated 9-28-215 requires DHS to notify the public of such incidents if the youth could have been charged as an adult at the time he or she was committed to DYS.
DYS will investigate the incident and take any necessary action. Anyone with information about the youths’ whereabouts should contact local law enforcement.
