WHAT: Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Director Tiffany Wright will run one mile for each child in foster care in the state who is waiting to be adopted. There are currently 179 waiting children, so Wright plans to run 179 miles total with the final 3.1 miles coming during Project Zero’s Chasing Zero 5K on November 1 in North Little Rock.
Wright and representatives from Project Zero will speak about the running challenge and the 5K at a press conference Tuesday morning, and Wright will then run the first mile on the same course where the 5K will be held.
WHEN: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 8. Media should plan to arrive by 9:15 a.m.
WHERE: The press conference will be at the corner of Northshore Court and Northshore Drive in North Little Rock [map link]. Media may park in the EngageMed parking lot.
