Who: Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Aging and Adult Services and AARP Arkansas

What: Long-Term Care Policy Summit and release of report that details Arkansas’s performance in the area of long-term care services and supports coupled with a state ranking comparison.

When: 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011

Where: William J. Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock

The summit will feature a review of the report, Raising Expectations: A State Scorecard on Long-Term Service and Supports for Older Adults, People with Physical Disabilities, and Family Caregivers. The Scorecard was developed by AARP’s Public Policy Institute, The Commonwealth Fund and the SCAN Foundation. It is the first report to measure state-level performance of services and supports to these specific adult populations. The Scorecard ranks all 50 states and the District of Columbia in four key areas of performance using 25 data indicators. The summit will take a detailed look at Arkansas ranking and offer strategies for improvement. The Scorecard discussion is set to begin at 9 a.m.
