May is Mental Health Awareness Month

05/28/2018

To recognize Mental Health Awareness Month members of the Division of Aging, Adult, and Behavioral Health (DAABH) staff, along with several community partners, held an Arkansas Mental Health Month and Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day event on the steps of the State Capitol.

The basis of the program was to remind people that mental illness is common and easily treatable.

DAABH Director Jay Hill, pictured above, was among the speakers at the event. DABBH ensures the provision of public behavioral health and mental health services throughout the State of Arkansas. There was also a governor’s proclamation read announcing that May 8th as Arkansas Mental Children’s Health Day.
