The Arkansas Department of Human Services, Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (OSAMH) has partnered with CHESS Health, a leading provider of evidence-based digital recovery support tools, to expand access to evidence-based digital recovery support tools across the state’s behavioral health providers and Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs).
This resource is available at no cost to eligible partners.
Arkansas Peer Recovery
These tools are part of Arkansas Peer Recovery, a program that connects people who have lived experience in recovery to individuals currently navigating substance use or mental health challenges. Peer Recovery Specialists walk alongside individuals receiving services, offering guidance, empathy, and a path forward.

DHS also makes these free digital tools available to eligible behavioral health providers and Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs) to help Arkansans in recovery.
Connections App
The Connections recovery support app extends the reach of providers and peers to offer individuals in recovery with resources to:
- Connect with other peers through a private online community
- Join dedicated meetings and learning sessions
- Access self-care resources
- Enroll clients in the program more easily

Companion family and caregiver support app extends your program’s impact by supporting family members, friends, and caregivers with a moderated digital community that offers guidance, shared experiences, and valuable resources for recovery and self-care. Companion offers:
- A private, understanding community of fellow caregivers
- Educational resources on treatment, recovery, and medication
- Daily encouragement and guided journaling tools
- Access to discussion forums and emotional support
