Joey and Jessica Patten – Area 8 Foster Family of the Year
Mammoth Spring, Arkansas
Joey and Jessica Patten opened their home in 2024 with a plan, but as foster care often teaches us, things rarely go as planned. Their first placement request not for the small children they thought they wanted…it was for teenage twin siblings. But they said yes, and they’ve never looked back. From those teenage twins to newborns and every type of kiddo in between, they’ve embraced every twist and turn with open arms, unwavering love, and abundant grace.
Their devotion is evident from the small, everyday moments to the big, life-changing decisions. Whether it’s pumpkin patches, ball fields, schoolwork, or bedtime routines, the Pattens create a life full of consistency and joy.
They’ve said “yes” to many who others had given up on—and in doing so, gave them something they desperately needed: a chance. Showing us that foster care isn’t about perfection – it’s about presence and showing up, again and again, with open hearts and open arms.
Joey and Jessica also walk alongside biological families long after reunification, offering meals, babysitting, and most importantly, unconditional support. They also serve as an Independent Living Sponsor for a teen boy, mentoring him as he navigates his path to adulthood.
Congratulations, Joey and Jessica, our Area 8 Foster Family of the Year!
