Tonya Williams serves as Director of the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. She has served in that role for more than 15 years and is responsible for overseeing child care and residential licensing, the Better Beginnings quality improvement system for early education, administering several federal programs that serve young children and families, and USDA nutrition programs. Tonya is passionate about improving the quality of early childhood education for all children in Arkansas. She is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University. She has worked in early childhood education for more than 27 years, serving in several leadership roles. She and her husband Randall have five daughters, including a former Italian exchange student, and five grandchildren.
