Meet the Division of Provider Services & Quality Assurance Director
Jerald Sharum serves as the Director for the Division of Provider Services and Quality Assurance. Jerald joined DHS in 2010 as a trial and appellate attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel and handled child welfare and adult protection cases for six years in that role. In 2016, he was promoted to Senior General Counsel for County Legal Operations and supervised all trial and appellate attorneys and staff at DHS who handle child welfare and adult protection cases. In 2019, Jerald was promoted to his current role. Before joining DHS, Jerald worked in private practice in California and Arkansas and focused on technology and health care matters. Jerald holds a Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School, a Master of Arts in public administration from the State University of New York at Albany, and a Bachelor of Arts in classical studies from the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville. Jerald served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Albany Law Review and has served as adjunct professor at the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, where he currently teaches.
