The Division of Community Service & Nonprofit Support (DCSNS) strengthens community resources, volunteerism and national service in Arkansas. We have been offering training, consulting, and information to all Arkansans since 1974 and we are the oldest state office of volunteerism in the nation.
Act 42 of 2011, changed our name from the Division of Volunteerism to the Division of Community Service & Nonprofit Support.
Funds available for New and Re-competing Arkansas AmeriCorps Programs
DHS/DCSNS/Arkansas Service Commission and the Corporation for National and Community Service are pleased to announce the availability of federal funds to support AmeriCorps programs in Arkansas for the 2016-2017 program year.
Funds provided through Arkansas AmeriCorps support members who provide direct service to individuals and groups in their communities through eligible organizations.
It’s time to consider nominating your town for the Annual Volunteer Community of the Year Awards! These awards, co-sponsored by the Arkansas Municipal League, the Governor’s Office, and DHS Division of Community Service and Nonprofit Support (DCSNS), honor 12 communities each year for outstanding citizen volunteerism.
Nominations are now being accepted. The nomination deadline is September 30, 2015. Bonus points will be given to communities who submit volunteer hours to the Economic Impact of Arkansas Volunteers for 2014.
